President Abraham Lincoln, a person known for integrity, honesty, kindness, and dedication to human rights, inspired the name Lincoln Behavioral Services. In addition, President Lincoln and his wife, Mary both struggled with mental illnesses during their lives.
The mission, vision, and overall philosophy of Lincoln Behavioral Services reflects our focus on the inherent dignity, worth, and potential of every person, including the people we serve and the staff who serve them. As a result, service planning and provision are viewed as a continuous collaboration between consumers and staff, in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Ultimately, all of us benefit from this experience.
As a private, non-profit corporation, Lincoln Behavioral Services is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors who reside in the communities we serve. In keeping with our emphasis on consumerism and self-determination, the Board includes a significant number of consumers of our services, as well as relatives of consumers.
